Working with SAP to Change the Labor Paradigm

In May 2013, Specialisterne entered a partnership with SAP AG to provide employment opportunities for people with autism as software testers, programmers and data quality assurance specialists. Like, the Specialist People Foundation, and Specialisterne operations around the globe, SAP sees a potential competitive advantage to leveraging the unique talents of people with autism, while also helping them to secure meaningful employment.

This collaboration supports SAP’s mission to help the world run better and improve people’s lives, and our mission to enable jobs for people with autism, while strengthening SAP and SPF as global leaders in innovation.

So far, successful pilot projects in India and Ireland have demonstrated the positive impact of empowering people with autism to excel in their areas of strength. SAP Labs India has hired six people with autism as software testers for SAP Business Suite applications. In Ireland, we have just now completed the screening phase for five positions to be filled this year. SAP will be expanding the program globally, starting in the US, Canada and Germany this year 2013.

The program is currently in the ramp-up phase, and the recruitment process will commence in the coming months. Updates on recruitment, locations and on the program in general will be published here.
